Calendar of FCI European Dog Show
from 1982 to the present day

The European Dog Show is one of the most prestigious International Dog Show, which, like the World Dog Show, is held annually.The right to organize is awarded by the FCI, the Fédération Cynologique Internationale, and is won by the country, that has will receive the most votes from the member countries. The European Dog Show its international character is further enhanced by the high number of participating countries and the diversity of dog breeds. Exhibitors from 50 – 70 countries will compete with the 250 – 400 dog breeds for the prestigious European Winner titles from 3 to 4 days. Within the framework of the European Dog Show are International and National Dog Shows, club and special events are also waiting for the exhibitors and their wonderful dogs.

There are also a number of special dog sports and other competitions during the European Dog Show, that are loved by dog lovers. Entertainment programs at the event include Dog Dance and Flyball competitions, which provide an unforgettable show for the audience. Among the sports competitions the Agility is very spectacular, and spectators are enthusiastic about the competitors in the meantime. The dog lovers generation of the future will be inspired by the Junior Handlers competition, in which junior handlers perform tasks with dogs of different breeds and sizes. Special working dog demonstrations will also add color to the program, we can see, the dogs how helping with their work to the people in certain areas of life, we can admire their great skills while performing the rescue, the blind driving, the drug search, the guarding and the protection tasks.

The first European Dog Show was held in Brussels in 1982, the Belgian Kennel Club registered 2712 dogs for the event. Over the past 40 years for the Dog Breeding Organizations of nearly 24 countries has been honored to host the lovers, the breeders and the exhibitors of purebred dogs at an European Dog Show.
